  • For African American women in the United States aged 25-34, AIDS is the leading cause of death.
  • Black women account for nearly 67% of all new HIV infections according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
  • 76% of women living with HIV are in sub-Saharan Africa and 3 out of 4 young people living with HIV are female according to Avert, an International AIDS charity.
